We held our latest fan event for The Sims on Friday July 20th. We had a great turnout with our top international fansites represented. We welcomed back our top fansite - The Sims Resource as well as upcoming sites such as L'Universims and Edenstyle. All sites combined account for an impressive 27+ million page views per month and a community size of at least 2.5 million! These fansite leaders were shown exclusive sneak peeks and had hours of game play for The Sims 2 Bon Voyage and the new The Sims 2 Castaway lineup.
Game producer Lyndsay P. (MaxisLittleL) showed off an exclusive demo of The Sims 2 Bon Voyage. Fansite leaders learned you can travel to three new destinations, send your Sims on tours, buy or find unique items, and stay at new travel accomodations. The Sims 2 Bon Voyage ships on September 5th for North America.

Producers Mike C. and Jon-Paul D. showed off the exciting game play within The Sims 2 Castaway for the Nintendo Wii and DS. Top game play includes opportunity to explore new environments, discovering mysteries of the islands, and crafting everything from scratch. Castaway ships on the Wii, DS, and PS2 October 22, 2007 (PSP early November 2007).
A special sneak peek for The Sims Castaway Stories was given by game producers Bim M. and George P. Castaway Stories is due out early '08.

Also shown was the latest Web site to join the Sims family - Singshot.com. The resident singer - Marcello from our Brazilian fansite was brave enough to record a song.

At the end of the day, the fansite leaders were invited to have dinner with the game producers, Web team, and Marketing teams. Fansites were able to give their feedback on the games, asked questions about game play, and presented ideas, concerns, and suggestions from their communities.
