SimMaster of the Month: October 2005

Get to know the site moderators! The Sims 2 community is large and growing. We have some fabulous moderators on the site who help other simmers in need, keep things running smoothly, moderate the boards, and help enforce the rules that Maxis has set up. Our SimMasters are players just like you. Each month we'll be asking one of our SimMasters some questions so you can get to know them better.

This month we talk to October's SimMaster of the month, the sagacious and keen SimMasterMoira!

Hi SimMasterMoira. How long have you been a SimMaster?
Since June 2003.

What is your favorite part of the Sims 2?
Do I have to pick just one thing? I love how much personality these little pixelated people have. I love the little autonomous actions, like when they cheat at chess or when they lecture their spouse for flushing the toilet when they're in the shower. And I love the babies, especially the little green ones! I feel a sense of delight every time a baby is born. Since TS2, all babies have become "noo-boos" to me. And now with Nightlife, I love the slow dancing and all the romantic interactions.

What is your favorite thing about being a SimMaster?
I've always loved the Sims BBS community. I first signed on to the TS1 BBS in December 2001 and have been hooked ever since. I love how people help each other and the funny stories they tell about their Sims, and I've met some wonderful people. In being a SimMaster I feel like have a chance to give back to the community and help keep it a nice place to be.

What is one thing you've learned from being a SimMaster?
I've learned more than ever how important it is to try to see the person behind the words. We have such a diverse community! There are people from a multitude of countries, people of all ages, with a wealth of different educational and life experiences. It's important in the faceless world of the internet to remember that there are real people behind the words, with potentially wonderful things to share and with real feelings.

What's your favorite object from TS2 (including expansions)?
I love the cow plant! I wish you could scratch it on the nose and talk to it. I just love how it wags its tail ... er, leaves ... when trying to entice an unsuspecting Sim or when you feed it.

Any advice or tips for your fellow Simmers?
Never lose your sense of playfulness. It's what keeps you young.
