Why did we decide to create The Sims 2 Store?
Over the years we've heard from The Sims 2 players and potential players that they want the freedom and flexibility to pick just the items they want. We saw potential to reach out to this group of players by giving them a store where they could easily & conveniently select from thousands of items from our collection of The Sims 2 Expansion Pack & The Sims 2 Stuff Packs.
Do I need The Sims or The Sims 2 to use The Sims 2 Store?
You need to have either The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Deluxe, The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, The Sims 2 Special DVD Edition, or The Sims 2 Holiday Edition to use The Sims 2 Store. If you are new to The Sims, and want to get started, go here.
Is The Sims 2 Store a new game, Expansion Pack, or Stuff Pack?
No, The Sims 2 Store is a new website that allows players of The Sims 2 to explore, shop, and download content online directly into their The Sims 2 game.
How are The Sims 2 Store and the Exchange different?
The Sims 2 Store is an all-new experience from The Sims. Here, content from past Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs will be made available, which until now, were only available as part of a complete pack. At The Sims 2 Store, you are able to pick-and-choose the items that you would like, without committing to a total Expansion Pack or Stuff Pack. Also, exclusive content will be made available that can't be found elsewhere.
What do I need to do to go shopping at The Sims 2 Store?
You simply register at www.TheSims2Store.com and follow the on-screen instructions.
Is The Sims 2 Store available for both PC and MAC?
No, at launch The Sims 2 Store will be available for the PC only.
How long will it take to register and download the applications needed for The Sims 2 Store?
On average it will take 15-30 minutes to download the EA Download Manager and The Sims 2 Store application, depending on your connection. The EA Download Manager is a one-time installation, and you can use it in the future when you purchase additional content from The Sims 2 Store, and you can use it to purchase and directly download EAGames.
Which of The Sims 2 Expansion Packs and The Sims 2 Stuff Packs will be included at launch?
We have handpicked items from the following The Sims 2 Expansion Packs and The Sims 2 Stuff Packs:
- The Sims 2 University Expansion Pack, The Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion Pack, The Sims 2 Open for Business Expansion Pack, The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack, The Sims 2 Seasons Expansion Packs, & The Sims 2 Bon Voyage Expansion Pack

Which EPs and SPs will NOT be included at launch?
Items from the following The Sims 2 Expansion and Stuff packs will NOT be included at launch:
- The Sims 2 FreeTime, The Sims 2 Apartment Life
- The Sims 2 Kitchen and Bath Interior Design Stuff, The Sims 2 Holiday Stuff, The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff, and The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff
Items from these Expansion and Stuff Packs will be available at a later date.
What if I would like to purchase the entire The Sims 2 Expansion Pack or The Sims 2 Stuff Packs?
You can purchase and directly download any of The Sims 2 Expansion Packs or The Sims 2 Stuff Packs. See our game page for more details.
How many exclusive items will there be at launch?
The Sims 2 Store will feature more than 100 exclusive, new items including 2 Themed Collections: Art Deco and Cubic.
Plus, you can download 6 new FREE items at launch. These include The Recalcitrant Recliner by Decorama Designs, Power Mirror, Cameo Vase, Green and Yellow Velvet Dress with Silver Lock, Curly Top Hair, and Cantankerous Splatters Painting.

The Sims 2 Store will be available in other countries in the future.
Why is The Sims 2 Store launching as a Beta?
The Sims 2 Store is a new, convenient way to buy items for The Sims 2. The billing system and features are complete. However, we will be making occasional improvements to the user interface or other elements of The Sims 2 Store based on your feedback. We will be reaching out to users for their input in future surveys.
Will there be more content added to The Sims 2 Store?
Yes, we will be adding new content to The Sims 2 Store, so check back often for new items.
