Underground Basement Garage

Foundations and Basement Walls don't mix. We will show you the easy way to create walls within your basement.

Using the Foundation tool, create an arbitrary size foundation.

Hold down the CTRL key and delete the middle section of the foundation base as above.

To dig a hole for the basement, simply use the connecting stairs starting from the foundation.

and chain four of them downwards. This floor at the last flight of stairs is exactly the height of a wall.

Delete the stairs by holding down CTRL and clicking on the stairs. Then using the elevation tool to level the whole basement as the same level as the floor of the last stair.

Now that we have the basement dug out, notice that we can actually place walls within the basement area.

Here a quick demo of a room in the basement.

To create a garage, simply delete 6 tiles of foundation at the front.

This is where we are going to put our garage door.

Now we need an slow ground incline from the streets down to the basement garage. Use the Connecting stairs to help you create a general incline. Start a connecting stair about 7 tiles away from the foundation wall.

Using the elevation tool.....

Level out the bottom of each staircase for the width of the garage entry.

You can now see the basic incline shape begining to form...

The stairs have been deleted.

Using the lower terrain tool... careful click once to lower one tile at a time... to even out all the bumps.

If you accidentally click too many times, use CTRL-Z to undo the mistake and try again. Patience is the key here...

Angle your view so that you see where the bumps are and use the raise terrain tool to raise any submerged bumps...

Done. Now lets add a wall to your driveway. With the foundation tool, start from the foundation and....

create a foundation up to the top of your driveway...

Lets add a wall to divide the garage from your basement...

We are going to pave the whole driveway with tar....

so we will fence off the area that we are going to tile.

Under flooring/miscellaneous, you will find the "Terrific Tarmac Asphalt". Simply place your selected tile within the garage boundary.....

and hold down Shift.... immediately your whole garage is tarmac'ed....

remove the fence once the tarmac is dry....

Add a garage door (Wall)

Use the "Independant Expression Big Entrance Shop window.... as your base garage door...

Then add oaktown classic door as your paneling....

add a connecting basement door to the garage... , add stairs to upstairs... Use Wall Coverings, Poured, Paste Stucco and hold down shift to quickly cover the brick walls with white coloring.

add some floor tiles to the rest of the basement...
