When we last left Lucinda and Jameson, spring love was being discovered. Let's see how things have turned out now that spring time is over...

Lucinda and Jameson were both on a cloud all by themselves. Their relationship had grown tremendously in the last few weeks, so much so that they barely spent any time alone without one another. Spring was now over and summer was approaching. There were plans to be made, and there were also decisions to be made in regards to whether remaining on campus for the summer or choosing to go home. Neither Lucinda nor Jameson wanted to make any of those decisions now because now was what mattered most.

"How did you do on your test, Jameson?" Lucinda could barely keep her hands off of him. His hands were always so soft and welcoming. When their fingers met, it felt like they belonged intertwined.
"I aced it! You know me, if it's not an A, I'm not satisfied."

As Lucinda and Jameson prepared to exit the cafeteria for their next class, a fellow classmate named Drea Anderson entered in a bit of a rush. Drea never seemed particularly busy because her studies were the least important thing in her life, and this is why she was immensely popular in the party circuit. Lucinda on the other hand avoided her like a bad dress on the sales rack.

Drea called over to Lucinda before Lucinda could actually get away without being spotted. Lucinda used some Spanish profanity under her breath and she addressed Jameson in a whisper before he kissed her goodbye.
"Jameson! Oh! Hold up! I still have one more thing to ask you about this weekend's study group. Give me a sec, my conversation with Drea WILL NOT be long." Lucinda chuckled as she walked towards Drea reluctantly.

Drea didn't beat around the bush, "Look, Lucinda... it's bad enough you are dating that liar and cheat, but do you have to have those disgusting displays of false affection?"
Lucinda instantly became angry and upset because she was tired of all the rumors, and also tired of the constant harassment she received from SO CALLED friends. She did not even like Drea, and to have Drea approach her with such disdain made matters even worse. She didn?t even fall in the category of ?so called? friends, so how dare she?

Lucinda was all set to walk away, but she turned around and restrained herself from striking Drea dead in her mouth.
"No, you look Drea! You have some nerve coming over to me and giving me your two cents! Who the heck died and left you the right to say anything to me?! You don?t know me, and you know NOTHING about Jameson, so mind your own business! The only story you are familiar with is how the latest party turned out! So I suggest you step off and lay off of him and me! Plus, next time come and talk to me when I actually care about what you have to say!"

Drea was just about to come back with some words, but she really was afraid that Lucinda would swing at her, so she refrained. Plus at that very same moment Savannah appeared out of nowhere. It was almost as if Lucinda sent off some kind of radar to her best friend. As if they had some kind of Wonder Twin powers or something, and Lucinda could not believe it herself, because normally it happened with Joel, but lately it was happening with Savannah.

"Drea, lay off! And aren't you late for your tennis class?" Savannah knew Drea was up to no good so she didn't give her a chance to respond back to Lucinda's previous statements. Plus, Savannah knew that Lucinda was about to strike.
"Oh! Yeah! I am late. I guess now-a-days it is a sin to warn your friends..." Drea spoke these words as she turned to walk away.
Lucinda always had to make sure to have the last words, ?That?s just it, Drea! We aren?t friends! We never were and lord knows we will NOT EVER be!?

Lucinda always had to make sure to have the last words, ? Ok, hold up! That?s just it, Drea! We aren?t friends! We never were and lord knows we will NOT EVER be!? With those last words, she sighed in anger and frustration and turned to Savannah.

At this point more attention was being drawn, and Lucinda knew Jameson had probably walked away to conceal his anger as well. Marcus the new exchange student walked over to try and play peacemaker between the three girls.
Savannah did not want any trouble for Lucinda, so she warned Drea one last time, "Drea, just go to class..." With those words, Drea did just that as she walked away with a small smirk on her face.

Savannah tried to laugh it off, "Girl, you were about to bring it, weren't you?"

"Savannah, I almost lost my cool. I don't think... Oh, man! Hold up! Jameson!" Lucinda realized Jameson must have heard the whole conversation and she ran off to look for him.

She found him standing by the window in the dorm lobby. He turned to face her immediately when he heard her call to him. As she approached him, she saw the sadness in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Jameson..."

He immediately cut her off, "No, I'm sorry, Lucinda. I am sorry that you are getting so much slack on my account..."

"People are still treating me as if I have the plague, and I am use to that, but I don't want them to treat you that way. Look baby..."
"Oh, my God! You called me 'Baby!' You had not used any terms of endearment with me until now! That is your first one... I like it... Boo."

"I like the sound of that as well. You can call me 'Boo' anytime, baby. Hey, let me get to class. I'll see you later on tonight, baby." Jameson kissed Lucinda goodbye and went to class.

Lucinda returned to Savannah who was still waiting on her to complete their previous conversation.

"Look, kid-o. I know people are giving you a hard time. Just that you were with Manuel for so long, and... Well, Jameson... Nobody knows too much about him except that he cheated on an exam..."

As Savannah spoke her words, Lucinda debated whether to cut her off, but she couldn't resist the temptation.

"Ok, what you actually meant to say is that he 'supposedly' cheated on an exam, right? Because people need to lay off, especially if they don't know the truth!" Lucinda could barely contain her anger anymore.

"Hey, kid-o. This is me you are talking to. I'm just telling you what others are thinking. I just don't want my best friend getting hurt by the idiots we have up in here."

"Let me go, Vannah. I'm already late for Wassleman's class, and we have this huge project due next week. I hear ya, girl. I'm ok, Ok? I'll holla at ya laters." Lucinda kisses and hugs her best friend and she rushes off to class.

As her best friend walked away, Savannah could not help but wonder about just how truthful Jameson had been to Lucinda. She also wasn't sure how satisfied she was with his story in regards to his so called cheating. It wasn't so much that he cheated, but just the thought of the dishonesty of the whole situation made matters a little unsettling, but it wasn't for Savannah to believe or not believe, because she wasn't the one dating him. But her best friend WAS dating him and that made it, she felt, her business.

Later on that evening, while Lucinda waited for Jameson's call that he was downstairs to pick her up for their date, she sat studying for one of her final exams. Joel, her twin brother knocked at her door. He had not spoken to his sister all day long, and he had heard the rumors of the Drea incident.

Joel knew he didn't have to check up on his sister, but he wanted to talk to her anyway. They had not had a serious chat since spring break, and he wanted to spend a few minutes catching up. He never knocked, so he just walked right in.

"You know, one of these days you are going to walk in on something you do not want to see, so knocking may come in handy twin bro." Lucinda vowed to make sure to next time lock her door because Joel had that bad habit. He did it to her all throughout their childhood. Although it did not annoy her as much as she led him to believe, she did want to teach him a lesson.

"So what's up? 'Cause you just don't bust in for no reason." She knew Joel heard about what happened today with Drea.

"Somebody in this room is going around wanting to jack people up... could that be you?" Joel started laughing when Lucinda gave him her famous "And what?" look.

"Yeah, and? What else is new? Drea is a royal pain in the..."

"We all know where she is a royal pain at, sis... I just want you to keep your cool. Don't let her get to you. Stay focused. We have two more years at this school and we want to make sure we leave with a clean slate. Make mami and papi proud, chica."

"Yeah, yeah... I know. I am not gonna put my hands on that girl... yet. I have bigger fish to fry. I need to catch up on my work. I have a huge presentation next week. Jameson and I have been working hard. Prof. Wassleman is working us in that Abnormal Psych class."

"Oh, yeah! I completely forgot you guys were actually in that class together. Jameson told me about that when last we talked. But isn't he paired up with another group to present?"

Joel thought about how funny it was that before Jameson started dating his sister, they had spent some time talking. Even after he was accused of cheating, Joel still conversed with him. There actually was something about Jameson that Joel liked, and he did seem like a very nice guy. The only thing was that although he liked Jameson, he still did have some reservations about him dating his sister. Lucinda had a wonderful reputation and he didn't want that getting blemished.

"Yeah, he is paired up with a group that doesn't trust him. So we have been working together just in case he ends up having to present on his own. I told him I would be willing to present with him if his group lets him down."

Joel was amazed at how much his sister seemed to care about Jameson.

"Really, sis? Well sorry for them. I'm sure all will work out..."

"But you didn't come in here to talk to me about our presentation, did you lil bro?" Lucinda wanted Joel to cut to the chase.

"What else is it you want to tell me?"

"Well, sis... I cannot deny that it makes me slightly uneasy that you are dating someone that no one else seems to trust. But you are a big girl now and I TRUST you to make the right decisions. I just wanted you to know that I will defend you if I have to, but I will also be keeping my eyes and ears open."

"Well, lil bro... you do what you have to do. I trust Jameson wholeheartedly. He has proved to me that he is a standup kind of guy. I like him and he likes me. I appreciate that you are watching over me, I really do. Now, let me freshen up my face. Jameson and I have a date at the library."

"Ok, sis. Hey, we haven't double dated since you and Manuel. You think you want to give it a try?"
Joel didn't mind double dating with his twin sister because they were two in the same when it came to many things, and he was actually anxious to spend some time with Jameson. He even thought about doing a one on one with him. He wanted to get to know him just as much as Lucinda did. Plus he had Savannah nagging him constantly about getting to know him.

"Hmmmm, let me see... who will you be on the date with? Savannah or Jameson? Because you are just like papi. You like to interrogate!" They both laughed at her insinuation.
"Yeah, yeah... Whatever! Listen holla at me when you get back. Let me know you made it in safe, Ok?" With those words he kissed his sister goodbye.

As Lucinda got ready she couldn't help but think about how difficult a relationship is to begin with, and how much more difficult it is when others tend to get involved. She didn't care what others thought about Jameson. What is so weird is that when she was dating Manuel, nobody seemed to care that he was cheating on her, and they had nothing to say about his morals. But now that she was dating Jameson, everyone cared about his morals. Even if Jameson's story was a lie, Lucinda didn't care whether he had cheated or not. He is a wonderful person, and that is all she cared about.

"So Boo... It states right here that Sigmond Freud..." Lucinda really wanted to help Jameson with his presentation, but tonight he wasn't as into it as she was, and she could sense it."

"I don't know that I am really interested in what Freud had to say or do at the moment, Cinda."

Lucinda got up and returned the book back to the shelf, "Oh. So what are you interested in tonight, Boo? You do seem rather distant. What is on your mind? I hope that Drea thing still isn't bothering you, is it?"

"Well, Baby... I just don't know how good it is for you to be dating me. Frankly, you are a beautiful woman, and you have so much to offer the right guy. You have a solid reputation here at Sim State. I just don't want to ruin that for you. YOU are liked by so many here... I, on the other hand, am not. How is that gonna help our relationship in the long run? Don't you think it will rather harm it, than help it? I don't know... Cinda..."

"Wait a minute... Why don't you tell me what you do know, Jameson. There are many uncertainties in life. I know I am certain that I like you. I know I am certain that I want to give this a try. Obviously you don't seem to feel the same, so I will have to respect that. Before any of us fall any deeper, if you like we can just call it quits..." Lucinda was on the verge of tears but she did not want Jameson to see that.

"Whoa, whoa... I don't want to call it quits, Cinda. I just don't want to hurt you in any way, shape, or form. I really am falling hard for you, Baby. You are a one of a kind. Anyone would be stupid not to date you. There are just so many rumors about me floating around, and they all developed from that one incident last semester. I just can't seem to break away from the conceptions people seem to have of me, and I would never want them to have the same conceptions of you."

"Well, look. Why don't you let me handle that. I don't care what people think of me. What matters now is us. You and me. Right? So let's just work on that. Work on making 'us' work. All the rumors will die down soon enough, Boo. You will see. And by the way, I'm falling hard for you too."

With those words said, Jameson reached and hugged Lucinda tight. It had to have been a whole entire minute before he let her go. It wasn't until he heard the librarian clear her throat in warning that he did actually let her go.

"Hey, let me take you back to your dorm. It's late and we both have early classes tomorrow. My baby needs her beauty rest. Because everyday that I see her she looks more and more beautiful."

"You need to stop flattering me!" Lucinda gave him a quick kiss before the librarian let out another one of her throat clearings at them. "Now we can go." Lucinda made sure to wave at the librarian on her way out.

Upon entering the dorm building, Lucinda spots Drea putting up a library book. Drea didn't even dorm in that building, and she couldn't understand why she kept running into her there. So Lucinda decided to address her motives, because she knew there was a motive for Drea to be hanging out in this particular dorm building.

"Drea, what is it you are doing here? You don't even reside in this dorm building..."

"Oh, so now I have to have a ticket to come into this building, Lucinda? Who made you dorm captain? I was just here waiting on you."

Lucinda could not believe what Drea had just said. Why in the world would Drea be waiting on her? All Lucinda could think was that Drea really was waiting on a beat down.

"Girl, you are cruisin'! You really will not stop until I show you how it's done down in the South Bronx, New Yorican style! I suggest..." Before Lucinda could finish, Drea jumped in with what she had to say.
"Look, I am trying to give you a warning about your new man. He is a fake and a phony. It has to do with more than just that test he got caught cheating on. He is not what you think, and I know that first hand. I dated him all last semester. I guess you were too busy to ever notice, but he will not stop until he gets what he wants from you and then he will move on to someone else. Has he serenaded you yet?"

"Your silence tells me that he did. He is a creep, Lucinda. He took advantage of me in more ways than one. I don't need to spell it out for you, do I? You go right on ahead and see for yourself. Live and learn, girl. Live and learn." With those words Drea stormed out of the dorm building.

Lucinda sat down and all she could do was bury her face in her hands and cry. Why was this happening to her? Just when she thought all was right on track, something else happens to punch her in the gut. It took every ounce of strength she had to not punch Drea's lights out when she said what she said. What did she mean that Jameson took advantage of her in more ways than one? She could not remember for the life of her Jameson dating anyone last semester. There was a vague memory of seeing him walking around with a blond, but was that Drea?

Lucinda tried to clear her head; she tried real hard to picture the blond girl she had seen Jameson with, but she could not place the face. How could she bring this up to Jameson? This was not a conversation she wished to have. If Jameson took advantage of Drea, did that mean he had made inappropriate advances towards her and done something... She could not bring herself to think about it.

Drea also knew about Jameson's serenading, but she had told so many of her friends about that.

To her honest amazement, Savannah appeared out of nowhere again. It was so odd the radar that girl had. Lucinda wiped her tears quickly, she did not want Savannah to know about this just yet.

"Hey, Cinda... Hey, you ok? You look like you have just been crying. What happened?"

Lucinda hated lying to her friend, but she had to, "Yeah, girl. I'm ok. Just stressed. I have this presentation, and I guess I have just been pushing myself too hard. Helping Jameson, and doing my work. Just sat here for a sec and had me a good cry. I needed to release some stress."

"Girl, look... Just think about this, in just a few short weeks, we will be done for the semester. We will be off for the summer. We'll all be back home hitting the beach, shopping at Macy's, and just plain doing nothing. So your stresses will all be gone... Oh, wait a minute! I just thought of something. We will be all together, but you and Jameson won't be. Oh, honey! I see why you are so stressed! I would be too!"

"Girl, no... I have not even given that any thought. Just too much work this semester. I have two tough classes, Vannah. Just overworked."

"Well, do like me... Study only to get a passing grade. When we graduate from here, the job market is not going to look at how you got a C in Abnormal Psych. So I only do what I can. I don't fail, but if I don't get that A, que sera, sera!"

"Girl, you are too funny. Thanks for cheering me up. Let me go get some sleep. I'm sure I will feel better in the morning." Lucinda got up to walk away.

Before she could completely walk away, Savannah stopped her, "Hey, when you're ready to talk to me about why you were really crying, I will be there to listen. I know you, Cinda. Don't you forget that. I'm not gonna pry, and I won't mention anything to your brother, if that is what you are worried about."

"What can I say? You know me better than anybody, huh? We'll talk soon enough, Ok? I love you, girl. Have a good night." With those words Lucinda went up to her room.

Lucinda didn't sleep a wink all night long. The next morning she lingered in bed, she knew she would be late for her first class, and she even thought about not going because she would be seeing Jameson there. But if she didn't show up he would call to see what happened to her. It would just spiral and make matters worse. She just wanted to bury herself under her covers and call it a day.

Lucinda got up and stood in the middle of her dorm room, she couldn't figure out why she couldn't decide what to do. Normally she would face her problems head on, but this particular problem was a difficult one. Who exactly did she believe? Did she really believe that Jameson had done something to Drea? Was Drea even telling the truth? If she was telling the truth, then what kind of act is Jameson pulling? These were questions she needed answered, and she needed them answered right away.

Lucinda decided it was still an hour before her first class, she would go over to Jameson's dormitory and talk to him before class. This way they didn't talk near the campus classroom, she didn't want others to see them argue. She knew that that was how it would all turn out. She truly did not see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Lucinda reached Jameson's dormitory and to her unfortunate experience, it started raining. Now, not only was she upset, but she was wet as well. She quickly ran up the entrance steps so she could gather her thoughts together before going in. She stood by the door and then decided to look in through the window.

When she looks inside, there is Drea sitting on the couch reading a book. She had never once ever noticed that Drea dormed in Jameson's same building. How could she had missed a detail like that? Now if she decided to go in and talk to Jameson, Drea would see her. She also decided that Drea's story was seeming more and more believeable. How could she be so blind to not see what was going on?

At that moment, Lucinda was able to move out the way just in time, because Jameson came down and he and Drea started a conversation. Should she stay and approach them both, or should she walk away? The rain had now stopped, but she now was wet, angry, and very confused.

Lucinda became so distraught that she hadn't even realized that she begun walking away. She didn't even know where she was going, but she knew she needed to by away from both Drea and Jameson before she did something she would ultimately regret.

The one thought she recalled was that it was Friday and she had to get off campus. She threw some clothes in her over night suitcase, and she called a cab.

Lucinda hurried downstairs with her bag; luckily it was still the time of day when everyone was running to not be late. Her movement were so systematic and quick, that no one asked her where she was going. Lucinda herself was not sure. All she kept hearing in her head was, "You need to get out; get away!"

Just when she had just thrown her bag into the cab and she was about to step foot inside, she hears a familiar voice call out to her. Lucinda recognized the voice, but she opted to ignore it. The voice called out to her again, but all she could do was say, "Cabby, Sim State Bus Terminal, please."

Lucinda closed her eyes as the tears streamed down her face. She dared not to look back at the sole person who stood calling out her name as the cab driver sped away towards the bus terminal.

Who was calling after Lucinda? And where is Lucinda going? These are the questions to be answered in part II to Dormitory Love 101. Many things are left to be resolved. Hearts will be broken, and lives will change.
