Meadow Lawns has three land masses each with a very different character.

Willow Lane meanders along one of the islands lined with small, rural bungalows. A lot of elderly people have lived here all their lives and it's a peaceful place. It's also a cheap place to live and one or two younger couples and families have recently moved in. Let's meet some of the residents.....

Father and Son, Derick and Gregory have just moved into one of the little riverside bungalows. Along the Lane are widowed Werner Schmidt and his children and the newly wed couple Isabel and Vincent Jankowicz.

This typical cottage is home to an elderly knowledge sim called Job Whitaker. There are a lot of elderly people in Meadow Lawns.

Job offers a salad lunch to some neighbours. Jan Goossens in the shades is looking for romance. Ellen is listening politely, but she is more interested in raising her standard of living above the poverty line. Barbara, like Job is a loner who is happiest reading and learning.

The Wouters sisters want very different things in life, but sisters stick together. They have noticed that the men outnumber the women in Meadow Lawns and Adelheid is looking forward to it - Birgitta isn't.

These terraced houses in Jubilee Court are intended for multiple occupancy. Many houses are vacant and the others are occupied by elderly sims who find the upkeep of the large gardens a problem.

Claude the former police inspector and his wife Reine live in Jubilee Court.

So does Elijah who spends a lot of time keeping his garden looking good.

The elderly sims expect to be buried in Willow Church which is one of the small community lots in the area. Meadow Lawns has a farmers' market, a health spa, a small club, a park, a bar and two all purpose shops.

The marshy isthmus connecting the islands to the mainland is the site of a major scientific discovery and the army has set up a secret camp to investigate. The influx of sims and money has led to a property boom and a lot of businesses have sprung up on reclaimed swamp land.

The army base is expanding as the new commander spends freely to get the facilities he needs for his men.

What are these likely lads going to get up to in sleepy Meadow Lawns?

A row of prefabricated camp houses provides temporary accomodation for visitors to the base opposite. At the moment, one is occupied by retired general Sarah Branigan, another is occupied by the base commander's wife and two have been rented out to Sims with very little cash.

Sarah retired from the army which cost her her friends and family. She'll need to move out of her army camp house soon and find a new direction for her life.

John and Joe are looking for fun and a way out of the poverty trap as are their neighbours, the Staines family..

The 3 Staines toddlers find amusement where they can - their Mum Gina is looking for a new love... or two.. and their uncles have other fish to fry.

A lot of the Meadow Lawns isthmus is marshy, but proximity to the growing army base is fueling hopes of a property boom and the land has been divided into plots for sale.

The local bar is owned by Adam Jackman, who saw a golden opportunity to make his fortune in Meadow Lawns. He's been known to do a few under the counter deals in his bar and bought a lorry load of blue paint one evening which he is still using up.

Jack's bar is a bit on the dingy side despite the soccer pennants and Christmas decorations. Popular with the locals, but not likely to become "the place to be seen."

Adam convinces visiting townies that they have a bargain buy in Meadow Lawns. He has sold a lot of plots in The Glades to visitors from town.

Meanwhile, his wife Eve Jackman runs a pretty succesful clothes stall. With no building costs, she can invest her money in more clothing racks and sell cheap clothes to the less wealthy inhabitants of Meadow Lawns

Adam sells bric-a-brac in a car-boot style businesses - Most of his capital is tied up in real estate. He also owns a park and a 24-7 night shop.

Eve owns a small spa as well as the clothing stall and has added a hairdressing business to her portfolio. Unfortunately she can't afford to build a proper salon and can't find a decent stylist to hire.

Adam's son George learns from his parents experience and sets up more upmarket businesses. 'Jack's hillside resort' is a playground for the wealthy who love to eat on the hillside terrace and soak in the hottub at the top of the hill. It is popular and it makes a lot of money.

"Jack's Statue Yard" is another of George's successful ventures. George is not a nice man, but he does seen to enjoy putting soap in his own fountain.

George now has a sizeable business empire and is getting seriously rich. He decides to show it off by building the only skyscraper in Meadow Lawns. "Jack's Office" is painted in the trademark Jackman blue paint.

George Jackman's "I've arrived" house. His wife Emily has planted more trees in the hope of attractiing some wildlife.

George lives on the other island in Meadow Lawns. This island is the playground of the wealthy though some of the occupants of these big houses are down on their luck these days. Isabella Monty has a house here; she left her feuding family behind her in Veronaville and is looking for a new love in Meadow Lawns. Her granddaughter Lois plans on being mayor.

One of the big houses has just been turned into a foster home. Will the 6 troubled kids turn their lives around here and grow up well, or will they sink further into trouble? Will Mrs Foster look after the kids or feather her own nest?

The Livesey family may own a house in the best area, but they are living in genteel poverty. Can Derby and Joan marry off their six strapping sons before they die? Will the sons marry to please their parents or make their own way in life?

George's daughter Susan moved into this mansion with her trusty servo while she was still a teen after a major row with her Dad. Up til then Susan had always been Daddy's girl; she did what she was told and learned everything he wanted to teach her. In return she got a servo of her very own when she grew up as a child prodigy and owned 5 businesses as a teen.

Jackbot the servo is kept pretty busy keeping Susan's garden under control and the businesses supplied with crafted items. He uses some of his robots to help with the gardening, but he has a lot of trouble keeping them working properly.

Susan just keeps falling in love, but married Francois so her son Philip would grow up with his father. She's rich and he's a fortune sim - will it turn out to be a marriage made in heaven or hell?

Susan also owns an art shop and another successful business selling mirrors and other decorative items. She's proved she can run a business and is ready to hand over the reigns to someone who will ride herd on her staff so the businesses generate some profit. Her new husband Francois would love to be a business tycoon, but what happens if she transfers the businesses to him and the marriage fails?

Susan had such a hot-house childhood, she refused to put any pressure on her son. Young Philip had a fun-filled childhood and has thoroughly enjoyed life as a rich teenager. He is about to grow up with no skills whatsoever and is looking forward to moving out of the family home.

Philip's dream home is modern in concept with the living area upstairs to make the most of the view and a big terrace over the pond for entertaining. Perfect for romance.
