The hairstyle that is easiest to use and the most fun is this one. For this tutorial, we will be using this hairstyle in blonde. Go ahead and select that and select the "Import" button. I named this file "QuistisHair"

You should then come to this screen. What exactly did the "Import" button do?

The "Import" button created all these hair files under My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Projects/QuistisHair . As you can see, this is much more complicated than making custom clothings. Each hair style is different through each age (adult, elder, teen, etc). Adult hair files start with "a" , elder hair files start with "e" , and so forth. Since we only want to work with adult hair for now, we only need to look at the files that being with "a".

Open up the "a" files that have the word "alpha5" and "alpha7" in it and load them onto your favorite digital editor (like Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, or anything you like). This process is kind of like how you make custom clothes. The white areas show what will be shown on your sim. The black areas are the areas that will be "cut." So, to give our sim a haircut, we need to add black to the areas where we DO NOT want hair!

This hairstyle is very simple. To make it, we just cover up everything except the front part of the hair. When we refresh this on The Sims 2 Body Shop...

The hair looks like this! Exactly how we wanted it to be. Now save the project, and you can now use it as a hairstlye for all your adult sims!

This tutorial only showed one example, but even simple cuts can make beautiful hairstyles like this! Experimenting with where and what shapes to make the black areas is the most fun way, and truly the best way, to learn how to make hairstlyes.
