When I was a little girl my ukranian grandad would bring home chocolate plums from the continental shop. These were a very special treat that the whole family enjoyed.

When I was older....I remembered those chocolate plums and wondered how to make them, so I thought about it and realised I'd need:
10oz/300g of dark chocolate About 30 stoned prunes 1 tablespoon of brandy (optional)

If you are using brandy, soak the prunes in it overnight.

Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan with gently simmering water, you can also melt it in the microwave. Stop melting when there are still a few small lumps. These will melt very quickly and it will help the cooling process.

Dip the prunes into the melted chocolate and lay them out on greaseproof paper. Now the hard bit, you have to leave them to set, this will take a couple of hours.
