Hello my name is Dusty the cow and today were going to be making Pecan pies in 5 easy steps (insert round of applause) Now sadly as a cow I do not have thumbs I have hoofs. So my creator is going to try her best to make a fantastic recipe with my hoofs. Dusty is a knowledge sim so he is always eager to learn !

First things first Im going to list the ingrediants I will start with the pastry (remember to make sure you have the ingrediants before you start !) by the way g = grams FOR THE PASTRY 300g plain flour 150g melted butter 50g caster sugar (It doesn't have to be caster just any white sugar will do )

The ingrediants for the filling are next :) FOR THE FILLING: 175g pecan halves (you can just cut ordinary pecans in half if you like) 4 large eggs 85g golden syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 2 teaspoons bourbon 50g butter, melted 85g light muscovado sugar

METHOD 1. Heat the oven to 190c / fan 170/ gas mark 5.
(Dusty is having hoof trouble already)

Now like I said earlier Dusty has hoofs so he wont be able to use his hands/hoofs for this stage in the method ! 2.Work the flour,butter and sugar together with your hands intil well mixed,then press onto the base and up the sides of six 10cm fluted tart tins. Put on a baking tray.

3. Reserve 36 pecan halves and roughly chop the rest.

4.Beat together the eggs,sugar,syrup,vanilla,bourbon,melted butter and chopped pecans, and spoon into the tart cases (as menchioned in step 2). Top each one with 6 pecan halves.

5.Bake for 20-25 mins until golden and set. The filling will rise up as it bakes, but will settle back as it cools.

Now during the 20-25 mins while the pies are baking you can amuse your self by doing numerous activitys Dusty here enjoys the piano just make sure you don't forget about the pies or ......
