INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cups unsifted flour1 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup oil (corn oil preferably) 1 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2/3 cup cocoa 1/2 cup plus 1 tbs. hot water 1 cup buttermilk

1. Grease two layer pans- Heat oven to 350.

2. Combine flour, sodas, and salt in small bowl.

3. BEAT oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl.

4. Blend cocoa in hot water to make SMOOTH paste.

5. Add this to the oil mixture.
6. Add flour mixture alternately with milk.
7. Pour evenly into BOTH greased pans.

8. Bake 30 minutes until top springs back at touch.

9. Cool at least 10 minutes before removing from pans.
