Mmmm Yummy now.... For the real story behind this treat.... My grandmother always called it a gingerbread trifle because when in the process of fixing up the pears.... well our dog sunny ran into the house with a large bird in his mouth and jumped right up onto the table and dropped the bird onto the platter with the pears ..... So that day grandma named it a Gingerbread trifle because she said it was trifling to her how Sunny could ruin something we worked soo hard on ..... The End......
