Hi, my name is Hollie Jones and today I'm going to be showing you how to make Chilli Con Carne, a warming autumn type dish which is sure to heat you and anybody else eating it!
This recipe is from Holz1993Play's mum and dad-'the people that introduced me to this lovely recipe in the first place!'

Done now let's get our ingredients.

Ingredients 2 tins of Kidney beans or 225g dry kidney beans soaked overnight 2 medium onions or 1 large onion 1 tsp of vegetable oil 700g of minced beef Half tsp of chilli powder 1 garlic clove, skinned and crushed 1 tsp of flour 793g tinned tomatoes 2 tsp tomato puree 1 chilli, preferrably green and fresh or not at all if not want very spicy and salt and pepper to taste now let's start cooking!

First of all before you do anything else, drain the kidney beans then put into a large saucepan then pour over enough water to cover the beans. Bring to the boil, boil rapidly for 10 mins then reduce the heat and let the beans simmer for about 35 mins, until tender then drain.

While the beans are simmering, prepare the veg. Skin the onions then chop, if you want smaller pieces of onion, slice and dice them, they're only bringing more flavour and so don't really need to be that big. Cut the top off your chilli and tap off the worksurface, this should hopefully take out most of the seeds which are the hottest part of it. Slice it and put aside, then wash your hands, if you touched your eyes it would hurt!

In another large pan, put in the vegetable oil and brown of the mince and add the onion till transparent. Add the garlic and a touch of salt and pepper.

Got leftovers? Or just want to make other things from this recipe? Well, this chilli can be great in taco's , make into a pie by puting it into an oven-proof container and putting alayer of mash potato on top and baking it, serve it with rice! Even just serve with something else!
