We'll be using a couple of building cheats during construction and I'll list them here for an easy reference. The first is known as the floor cheat:
boolprop constrainFloorElevation false
Use the floor cheat only when called for and be sure to turn it off by changing "false" to "true" when it's no longer needed.
The next cheat is known as move objects and is entered like so:
moveObjects on
It's easy to delete something unintentionally (like the mailbox) when using move objects if you're not careful. Changing "on" to "off" will deactivate it. Now that you know the cheat codes, let's get started.

We'll start by laying a 3x17 section of brick foundation on a nice sized flat piece of land.

Then we place squares of foundation in the spots shown above. The first square should be centered 1 tile away from the large foundation. The others are one tile away from eachother as well.

In order to make the second level, and to get the paintable staircase we need to make the foundation the same height as a regular wall. We can do that by putting down a couple of regular columns as shown.

Then top the columns with a floor tile. It's time to turn on the floor cheat now.

With the cheat activated, start from the front left column and drag from that floor tile to the diagonal opposite column.

Poof! The foundation is now the right height. Go ahead and turn off the floor cheat, then lets get rid of those floor tiles and columns.

On our large foundation we'll use the room tool and drag a room from corner to corner so we can add a roof to the bridge.

Up to the third level we go. Select a flower bed border (I like the short mortar in brown for this project) and hold the shift key while dragging from one corner to the diagonal opposite. Then choose a floor tile that will become the roof of the covered bridge.

Back on the second level we will remove the walls.

And on the foundation We take out a couple of large sections, leaving the ends and the center section for our bridge supports.

Add a couple of plain columns between the foundation sections as shown. Then drag a floor tile from corner to corner.

And drag the floor tile again to fill in any gaps.

Arched columns look nice over each foundation support and will "hold up" the roof. Then add the railing to the bridge with the fencing tool. Add these sections first if you want the posts to appear in these spots.

And a couple more pieces where the center of the arches will be.
Created: 04.23.2005 Updated: 04.23.2005
Then drag the fence down the entire side, passing through the sections you've already laid out.

Repeat on the other side of the bridge and then remove the columns below.

Now lets wallpaper our bridge supports, and don't forget the inside of the supports while you're at it. Time to save again, then the floor cheat needs to be turned back on so we can make the arches.

The arch starts with 2 clicks of the raise terrain tool in this spot beneath the bridge, 1 tile away from the foundation.

Then with the level tool drag from the top of the raised tip to the opposite corner 1 tile away from the next support.

Move to the next tile, and raise 2 clicks again.
Created: 04.23.2005 Updated: 04.23.2005
And then drag and level to the corner 2 tiles away from the support.
Created: 04.23.2005 Updated: 04.23.2005
Now at this point we only want to raise by 1 click to get a nice arch.

Then drag straight back to the corner as shown.
