Use the Foundation & Deck Lattice Deck tool to create a base area that is 2 tile larger then your house. Here you can see the house walls on the Lattice Deck. The exposed area of the deck will become the deck that goes around your house. You can always adjust your deck area by using the deck tool to expand or subtract (holding the ctrl key to delete).

Use the Page Down key (all the way down to the first floor) and we will now delete the outside walls to expose the walkway around the house. To delete walls, select the Wall Tool and hold the ctrl key while you drag you mouse over the walls that you want deleted.
