Features May Vary By Handset

Q:What does "features vary by handset" mean?
A:It means that the version of the game available for download from your cellular phone carrier may differ depending on which handset you have.

Q:Why is there more than one version of The Sims 2 for mobile phones? That's confusing!
A: Sorry for the confusion! Unlike other gaming hardware, all mobile phones are slightly different from one another. To create the best experience for each one, game developers (that's us!) must create slightly different versions of the game to match the capabilities of each phone. That's why you will often see notices for mobile games that "features may vary by handset".

Q:Wait...so even though there are multiple versions, there's only one created for my particular phone? I don't have to figure out which is right for me?
A: That's right. The capabilities of your phone essentially decide the version for you. This is quite common in the mobile industry. The most powerful phones typically run the most feature-rich versions of the game with stuff simplified or removed as you move to less and less powerful phones. That way, no matter what phone you may have, you can still enjoy the game!

Q:Are there differences in gameplay between the different versions?
A: Sometimes there are. For example, in the case of The Sims 2, there is a difference in gameplay between the connected and the unconnected editions. Between the different unconnected editions however, the gameplay is very similar with only graphical differences noticeable as you move from the more powerful to less powerful handsets.
