TO ALL IDIOTS ON THIS SITE:
you know, i was thinking about leaving this site. every time i log on there's more and more usernames that i don't recognise. there's more and more of you idiots trying to cause trouble on the bbs. it's now moved on from spamming the boards to spamming a maxoid's (the community manager for crying out loud - and one of the best we've had!), with hate mail and threats. it got to the point where i was sick of it all, then, just now i read MaxoidDramaLlama's blog. now i'm not sick and tired of it all anymore. now i'm angry. i'm beyond pissed off. and there's no way in hell that i'm letting idiots like you ruin this site for genuine simmers. as long as we are around you will not win, so why not take your stupid games and petty threats back to the playground.
i can't believe it. i've been gone for a few weeks, i come back and see an announcement that MaxoidDramaLlama has left because of the harassment she received. well done idiots, you've driven away one of the best community managers we've had. i am disgusted and sickened by all this. i hope they ban every single one of you and give your names to their legal team. you people are beyond pathetic. all this over a story that was posted on another site within days of being deleted from here.

I so agree with you! Like when I was first a member here people were so nice and friendly. But now a days, people are rude and sometimes take things the wrong way. And they are always making O.T subjects. So I just avoid those and don't reply. (Although I might have done the same thing that you do in your blog)
I also read the rude guestbook signings of that person who left you that nasty reply after you left. 0.o
wow mean and so rude.

Ok, I never really take parts in any "BBS Drama" but I would just like to say I've seen you take so much crap lately it's been insane. Just wanted to let you know that most of us serious simmers are about as frustrated as you are about it. (Or at least, from what I've seen in some of your blog posts)

Idiots on the BBS
I agree with you wholeheartedly. The good thing is, with the little minions running around General Disscussion like banshees, their short little attention spans won't allow them to stay on the site for very long. Boredom or bans will get them, ehichever comes first. There are some people, tough, who somehow manage to avoid bans. I don't know how. I wish they would send a message to all new users about rules and repeated questions, yada yada yada. and then make them take a quiz to make sure they read it, haha!
I've seen you around the boards, and you are one of the few BBSers I admire.

Pirates 3
isaw Pirates 3 and it was AWESOME!!!! It was the best movie I have EVER seen!!!! All the actors did and AMAZING job (especially Johnny) So If I were you I would get out there and see it it's definitley the best of the trilogy. ~ KarterFanatic67

TO ANYONE NEW TO THE SITE
you might come across some "clubs" on the bbs, but you should be aware that clubs are not allowed on the bbs. you might also see some advertised in people's siggys "fight the power" - commonly used by SETOS - this club is not allowed on the bbs - it's in no way official, and it's pretty pointless. all people need to do on the bbs is follow the rules. sim masters will do the moderating, it's not up to other simmers to do that. and even if you agree with their message of "equal treatment of all simmers" ask yourself if these simmers can really be taken seriously when most of the founding members have been warned and banned for rule breaking so many times. their whole point to the club is because they feel they were treated unfairly, which basically is crap - moderators need a valid reason to warn or ban someone. this club was set up purely so they could feel even more self-righteous. they also like to keep a record of simmers they don't like and so far members can't give a valid reason for having lists of these simmers on their simpage. now why do they keep lists like that?

A simmer made a thread with a shoutout title, once the thread was opened it read ?joke! I just wanted to see how many people would open this. I?m just having fun?
The simmer had a rank of mute, so, I decided to reply with some friendly advice before they got in trouble, instead of just flagging it. I said, ?you should check out the rules, they?re on the left of the screen. You?ll have a lot more fun if you follow them, what with not getting banned and all that.?
But silly me forgot that people on the bbs think you?re rude if you don?t include some inane little smileys to every post (I`ve never been the kind of person to add loads of smileys and I`m not gonna start now). Then, a little while after that, I logged out. Now the simmer decided I was being rude, despite having no way whatsoever to be able to tell the mood of anyone writing on the bbs, and apparently left me a nasty reply. Well, of course, the thread being OT was deleted, so she decided to sign my gb to make sure I knew that she?d left me a nasty reply, and had apparently got some support from other simmers (who also had no way of knowing if I meant to be rude or not - but hey, people jumping to conclusions without any proof is pretty abundant on the bbs). Anyways a few hours later I log back on and see her first signing in my gb, I did not remember her username, so I signed her gb asking simply what she was talking about. She didn?t answer so I asked her in one of her threads on the bbs, then she decided to sign my gb again. I tried to reply back through her gb that I had not written the post rudely, but she had not deleted my signing, so I explained it to her in her thread. What I got in return was a load of abuse on the bbs about how sad I am (whatever) how I should get a life, how I have no friends (they actually thought it was all quite funny ) how I?m a sad 40 year old (I?m 25 - I don?t look 40 in my pic, do I?) and how I should get a job (I?m an artist).

^ actually Kleopatra, allaboutstyle states in their terms section that people can re-colour with their permission, and that they can offer their stuff for download as long as they give credit - but on THEIR OWN WEBSITE. they DO NOT allow their stuff to be put on the exchange (like a lot of creators) because once something is on the exchange EA own it.

TO PAIGEPERFECTION!!!!
you haven't deleted my last signing so i have to answer you here, i hope you see this.
you have to download a program called WinRaR, you can get a free version here
http://www.winrar.com.sg/download.htm just click on the english version and save.
once you have that downloaded you just save any download from fansites in your downloads folder in your sims2 folder. then just RIGHT click on each download (they'll look like a stack of books) and select "extract here". you'll notice files popping up in the folder, that means you've extracted the download. you can now delete the stack of books thingy. you might find a simspack file has been added to the downloads folder, so just double click on that and the installer should open up, otherwise you've done enough and the download should be in your game next time you play - if you've any more problems you can sign my gb again, but remember to delete my old signing!! :D.

downloads
hey! i have an important question to ask you. ive asked everyone else i know but they have no idea. you know the sims2 fansites, where you can downloads lots and stuff? ive downloaded some but they appear on my desktop as compressed or "zipped" folders. they wont install..and when i change the file extension from .zip to .sims2pack, i click on it to install but it says "please double click a custom content package file to install the content". i really want to have these beautiful downloaded lots on my sims2..but nothing ive tried works. im very frustrated..can you provide me with an answer?

yay me!!! goodbye back pain
broke my tail bone a couple of years ago and it still hasn't healed properly. i'm in agony if i stand or sit for a long time and being an artist doesn't help much with that....but today i ordered a pilates machine! yay! come next week i'll be able to get my lower back muscles in shape again and working properly. then the rest of my muscles will learn to work properly again too, and no more joint pain in my hips and knees either!!!!!!!
yes, i know this is very boring but you couldn't believe how happy i am today!!!

so, Ireland came last in the eurovision song contest with only 5 points!! it was 5 points too many - i can't believe how bad our entry was - i hope the rest of europe don't think that that act was indicative of the music scene in Ireland :(
5 points! it's pretty dismal considering we hold the record for the most wins!
everyone knows these days the voting is even more political than ever - especially with all the new eastern european countries entering but it's pretty pointless now. there's so many eastern european countries involved and they're all voting for their neighbouring countries that the western european countries don't get a look in - and they all deserved to be ranked higher - except us!

Hi, thank you for signing my guestbook. Honestly, while what that person said was rude, it wasn't solely what makes me want to leave. I've been around for 5+ years (including on the original BBS), and I've been called every mean name under the sun without care. But I had a terrible night last night, and I came to the BBS looking to have fun. Stupidly entered a debate, got riled up. Then went to that thread, posted my opinion, and got called racist and pretty much told that I'm an idiot because I'm American. (That's like hating all dogs because you got growled at one once. Or disliking all children because one sneezed in your hair.) Anyway, basically what I'm saying is while that person did annoy me, it wasn't their comment alone that pushed me over the edge; it was that combined with a million other things.
I really appreciate your kind words, maybe I won't leave for good, but I need a big, big break from this place.

Shouldn't have been done the way it was. But what are you gonna do?
I know how you fell about sims withdrawal. I have had a problem since installing seasons, so I probably will do a manual uninstall tomorrow. Luckily my husband is a bit of a tech geek. I'm also going to upgrade to two sticks of 1 GB of RAM compared to my two sticks of 512 each. Can't wait to have 2 gigs of RAM.
I going to go give you back some of your ratings now. You didn't deserve to be downrated.

Hm...
Agreed that Zen was fair SM but not today. She may have gone a bit far this time but I let that go anyway. I know for the fact I wasn't even rude nor impolite. I was just trying to help her out. But from now on, I'll stay out of those kinds of threads until I hear from a Maxiod to see if he or she answers my signing. Oh well......Life goes on.

I'm a habitual signer. Ha. Anyway, I see you were warned. And, to top it off, she warned you on the board. That was a bit strange. I thought SM's usually did that through your gb. Whatever. I'm glad you came out of it okay.
I haven't been able to play my sims for about 3 weeks. I have registry issues and want to add more RAM. I'm pinning my husband down at home this weekend to help me get it all sorted out. If he wants to go fishing next weekend, then by golly (I just used golly in a sentence...huh), he'll help with my computer. Seems fair, right?

Wow...did you see SMZen's warning to us?
She warned me, you, Kbarrik and other [b]one[/b]simmer who said "Good Riddance" to me.
I'm soo furious with Zen because I disagreed with her reasoning. But do you honestly think I enforce way too much? I don't think but unless I don't notice that much. But still, that's not right. She hasn't yet warned a few other Simmers....only four of us. That is so incredible. That has left me fumed.
I'm debating whether I should talk with a Maxiod to make my grievance about Zen.....what do you think?

Health system
Thank you for the well wishes. I agree that healthcare here in the US isn't all it's cracked up to be. They fall short too often, unfortunately. Hopefully they'll be paying for the surgery... if not, they'll likely be served. ;)

I noticed that you don't really like me, so I shall explain myself, cause I don't like to fight. Ok, I am BBS buds with heyihatethesims2, and we like OT threads, I know that is somewhat irrelevant but I like them but don't start them, she does. I have never been banned, and I only participate in OT threads in the evening on the weekends, the rest of the week I am normal and spend my time helping out simmers who need help. I cannot believe so many people have a problem with the car download being available for people who don?t have nightlife but have later eps. How petty can you get? I?d love to see cars included in a later ep - the ones from nightlife and some new ones for those who have nightlife. What?s the big deal? Anyone who says the only aspect of nightlife they use is the cars is lying - what about the decorations, clothes, hair, make-up, items, furniture? The argument that they only bought nightlife for the cars doesn?t hold up either - regardless of their motivation for buying nightlife the fact is they got a whole ep with their money, not just 5 cars and two driveways, and if cars were included in a future ep the people buying that would get a whole ep and not just cars and driveways too, regardless of whether that was their only reason for buying it or not.
I?ve got all the eps, and I wouldn?t begrudge any other simmer getting a few items from any of the eps, the only thing that would annoy me would be including all the features of one ep with a future ep, and I seriously doubt they?d ever do that. For crying out loud - it?s only a few cars, what about the poor kids whose parents think that Nightlife is unsuitable (and there are some that do)? Isn?t it sad that they lose out on cars and driveways (especially in a lot design sense), when they could have them without the social aspect of Nightlife?

i think most of the sim masters are taking their easter break. there's been so much rubbish on the bbs this past week. and there's so many repetitive threads - which is fine if a thread has over 100 replies (i remember waiting forever to open a 100+ thread before i got broadband), but it's a little annoying when someone decides to start a thread to give their opinion on a topic that's already being discussed at the top of the page and that thread only has under twenty replies.
what is this trend with thread starting lately? it seems that some people aren't happy unless they've got three threads on the first page. there's also been so much off topic stuff lately, there's hardly any decent conversational sims threads that you can really get into and follow, all it's been lately are people complaining (which they've every right to do to a certain extent) but unfortunately that leads to sniping at other simmers and complaining about people complaining.
or simmers taking it on themselves to preach about rudeness on the bbs. those threads are pointless, any real rudeness is flagged by simmers and dealt with by sim masters. All those threads do is get people?s backs up.

And what?s with people who just reply to a thread purely to say ?wrong section? or ?search the forum?? you can tell someone they?re in the wrong section, and how to search the forum in a completely polite way so why be so rude? Get off your high horses people!! Even worse than those people are the ones who post simply to tell someone they?ve flagged them - again with the self-righteousness.
And threads - for example a teen pregnancy question - if someone?s been told 8 times that the topic can?t be talked about, why do some people, often an hour later feel compelled to say exactly the same thing as the previous topics? Are these people that desperate to be sim masters that they feel the need to continually point out that they know the rules very well and are not afraid of showing other simmers? So they really think that sim masters will see someone posting what 8 other people have already said and think ?oh, s/he would make a good sim master??
i would also like to add that i absolutely HATE bbs chatshows. so there. :P
Aarrgh - where have all the sane simmers gone?!?!?!?!

I love that movie. Unfortunatly the only place that would have had it around here closed down. I love pretty much all the older disney movies and have made it a point to collect as many as i see, receiving odd looks from friends because of my odd tastes. Davey Crockett, Elfego Baca, Galiger, swamp fox, spin and marty. And the movies that they used to show on Vault Disney, such as Darby :p Being 22 i'm sometimes considered a bit odd for enjoing these as they were what my grandparents watched.

BBS threads - why was the costume party thread shut down when the friday night on the bbs thread was allowed to run? i've just read both threads, the friday night one is full of ot posts with simmers talking amongst themselves, and the costume thread looked like it could have been an interesting thread had it been allowed to run. was it stopped purely because it had party in the title? the basis of both threads was the same, in one a simmer posed questions to a sim of choice, making up answers according to how they'd believe the sim to answer, the other was an invitation to simmers to come to the thread as a sim character and interact with each other according to how they'd believe that sim would act. why was one allowed to run, and not the other?

just read the funniest thread ever about power hungry sim masters. it's seriously the most ridiculous thing i've seen on the bbs. don't people realise that sim masters ban only when they have to, and that the HAVE to have a LEGITIMATE reason to ban someone. bans go in a simmers history. i've yet to see an actual bullying sim master, drunk on their own power. what i have seen are plenty of obnoxious simmers who think that they can say anything, be rude to anyone, and expect to get away with it. someone made a thread the other day about the decline of the bbs over the past year, and boy was it true - and it's not down to sim masters, it's down to idiot simmers.

why are there so many childish people on the bbs who insist on making posts purely to tell someone that they've flagged them? they're being just as ot. it's like being in a school playground, with people saying "i'm gonna tell, i'm gonna tell." there's no need to inform someone that you've flagged them. just do it and move on. there's no need to act all superior and tell them. just flag and a sim master will check it out.

what really pisses me off about all this is when you go to these peoples simpages - what do they have registered - only one or a couple of eps. what does that tell you? it's someone keeping separate accounts purely for the purpose of trolling. these dumb little kids need to get out in the real world - find out what's happening and stop bringing the bbs down to the level of a playground. sim masters are not trying to act like people's parents, they're trying to keep the bbs sims2 related as it should be - you want to talk about anything else go im someone, or find a chat room. get over yourselves, you're not clever, you're not being all big and rebellious, you're being arrogant and obnoxious and i for one am glad the sim masters are here to get rid of all the jackasses like you. what maxis/ea need to do next is ban ip addresses, as soon as someone gets perma banned, ban the ip address straight away, and all the ip addresses that account was accessed from - you people obviously only come here to cause trouble, so you should be permanently be forced to get lost. rant over......for now.

to the idiots on the bbs......who are posting just to be mean and downright vicious about hillary duff - STOP BEING SO PATHETIC if you don't want to download it then don't simple. posting on the bbs just to be rude and mean and vicious just shows the rest of us just how pathetic you are. so what if you don't like her music/think she's ugly and or anorexic, being so stupid about it on the bbs is just ridiculous. how can you possibly hate someone you've never met. she was picked because she's a known sims2 fan, she loves animals and she's completely inoffensive and non-threatening which is exactly what maxis wants to promote their game to such a wide ranging market as they do. for christ's sake you all get angry and vicious over an optional download, yet when a real issue comes up - like free special downloads only available for a select few sims customers at specific stores - you're all kissing maxis' and ea's butt saying "i love maxis, i thank them for giving us sims" like they're giving you a gift and not selling you a product. why don't you all start engaging your brains and thinking logically instead of spouting rubbish that you're probably only saying 'cause the cool kids at school etc. say the same thing.

get a life threads!! ugh! i see maxoidmoonbelly's edited her post again. methinks we weren't supposed to officially know that was a definite product? although i don't see why she edited it, all she said was that it was an official sims2 product. that's all the info she gave, and apparently EA have confirmed it to game sites anyways. how come we're always the last to find out? actually forget that question, we're always last to find out because it causes a stir and whips up interest among us - the main market for sims products, so by the time the info comes, we're dying to find out - and for some reason we think we're dying to own the product too. thing is, if EA decided to keep us informed we'd still be interested in the product and they wouldn't have simmers refusing to buy something because of the way they treat us. the pets thing was ridiculous, and being on this site that last week before it was "officially" announced was ridiculous. i hope they don't let it get to that stage before they "officially" announce Get a life. we know it exists, they know we know it exists, so why not just give us the details? if we weren't die hard sims fans we wouldn't be on this site. they need to realise that not everyone who plays sims comes on this site, those of us that do would probably buy most of the sims products anyways, unless some of us get so fed up with how they refuse to keep us informed ahead of (or at least at the same time as) the general gaming world. we are the main buyers of sims products, we are the ones keeping the sims going, we are the ones who've paid hundreds of euros/dollars etc. on the sims, we don't we get rewarded? all we're asking is to be kept in the loop, instead of being informed as an afterthought.

hey all! i'm working on some more apartments. this time they're stacked on top of each other. there's the triple garage, then three two bedrooms apartments with a huge living area, a big kitchen, a main double bedroom with ensuite, a family bathroom, a study area off of the living room, and a smaller bedroom (which you could fit a double bed in) there's also a balcony for every apartment, and the surrounding grounds feature a communal pool, play area and garden. it should be up and ready for downloading tomorrow. i've been working on it for the past 4 hours, and it's nearly finished but it's nearly 6 am here and i gotta try get some sleep, if i can. it's been too hot to sleep lately, and they say it's gonna hit 30C today, ick, i hate hot weather! anyhoo.......yes.....apartments - later today! feel free to check out my other lots in the mean time. :D

shopping mall isn't happening. i just played it and it's too big. even with the lights taken out it still took ages to get my sims to walk around, i know it'd work fine on a lot of simmers computers but i'm not sure mine could cope with trying to upload it. oh well...........eight hours of work down the drain.....does it put me off?..........hell no! i'll come up with something else :D

i've just been downrated! (my lots, not my simpage rating) i reckon i know who did it too. hahahahaha, i think they expect me to be devasted!hahaha. i'm currently working on a shopping mall for the exchange. i'm gonna go play it now though, it's really big so i'm not sure how playable it's gonna be yet. i might have to take all the lights out. oh well........sims can shop in the dark, right? :D

How's it going people? well i'm considering getting the sims2 for my nintendo ds.....i think. i don't know - i'd already told myself i wouldn't buy the sims2 for ps2 once i'd bought it for pc. thing is i got my ds two weeks ago and i'm rarely off it - i'm playing animal crossing right this minute - i don't know. i'll have to think about it some more. if i do get it for my ds it'll be next week - tomorrow i buy guitar hero for ps2, which is FINALLY out here!!! (ireland). yay!!! :D

i've decided to start uploading again. i'm gonna upload the first one over the next day or so, i wanna work on the screenshots first. anyhoo, first off will be a community lot that's a hair salon with a cafe right next door - that's right people, two for the price of one. :D there's some fantastic salon stuff in the screenshots that won't be included with the lot but i'll post the link to modthesims2 where i got it, i was gonna post it here now but they seem to be having some database problems. anyhoo it'll be up over the next day or so. :D (i wonder if anyone ever actually reads this.....hmmmmmmmm.....)

nothing new going on in my life. still waiting to hear if i've got a place to do a BA. probably won't hear til middle of june. if i don't get a place this year, i've decided to do a year long course in computer-aided-design (sounds cool doesn't it?). then i'd apply to do the BA the following year - if i didn't get it then i don't know what i'd do. anyhoo, time for more gb signings (don't know why i bother moving them here - no-one comes back to sign again. oh well....). :D

I've seen you so many times on the BBS. Good times! Nice page also. I'm into tons of video games (have been playing them a lot lately) and just getting back to playing the sims again. Sims2 is great, and unlike most games, it never comes to an end (where your character completes the mission or game ends with the long story line). Sims can go on forever! lol. so i just noticed my last lot has been culled :( all i've got left is a single sim, who was only ever uploaded as a test. :( this culling sucks, i only started uploading this month, i know low rated stuff has to be deleted but how about giving the stuff time to be rated high or downloaded a lot before deleting? some of my stuff was only on a week before it was gone, and i know some people have stuff that's been on nearly a year, now granted, that stuff is rated high, but how about giving new builders a chance to get to that level of rating and downloads? would it not be better to give people an upload limit for their page? anyhoo....ranting over. i think i'll give up uploading.

well, i said i wouldn't do it, but i did it. i bought FFS. purely because i saw some lots on the exchange that i really want and you gotta have FFS to get them. plus it was only 14.99Euros, so that's a bargain, right? :)

hi everybody. i'm so bored! the bbs is really quiet today. i would go play sims2 but i think i'm gonna have to delete some cc, it's taking too long to load these days. i'm now thinking i might buy FFS, after saying i wouldn't but there's some lots on the exchange that i want and you need it to get 'em. oh well.....til next time.

hi all. just been searching for the thread i started entitled "adults who play the sims" i think it's been deleted though. :( maybe it's gone 'cause it was too long, there was 152 replies last time i looked. i'm relieved its gone because since i started it i felt duty-bound to read every reply and scrolling down through them was starting to make my eyes hurt :)) anyhoo, i just wanted to say many thanks to everyone who did reply - Adult Simmers Rock!! Just added a new family - The Quinceys. I love them. The dad looks like johnny depp, if you look close enough. Starting to realise all my male sims look like johnny depp since i downloaded a really brilliant Captain Jack Sparrow from the exchange, when i create a male sim i start with jack and modify the face a bit, can't remember who made the original jack sparrow, but he's seriously brilliant. Random request - could someone make tommy vercetti, and the cast of star trek the next generation? Anyhoo, time for spongebob, later folks.

Hiya's Googaly_Ferrit here :) I was just having a look around at the reciently uploaded lots and there was your "Little House". It got me thinking....I can make a pretty decient house (I think), but I don't kow how to upload them. Could you possably enlighten me on this process.

just added some new lots. a guy called Rhys and his house, also his business Bark At The Moon, a music store. Also a girl called Lilly and her house, in my game Rhys and Lilly just got engaged! Yay! They're both family sims. Anyhoo, i also uploaded Bark At The Moon on it's own. It's a pretty cool store, even if i do say so myself. There's also the Arberghast family - elder Donald and his niece Cynthia, when i say niece i mean i decided she's his niece, there's no family tree or anything - it's just a story i'm starting, back to the point, The Antiques Barn was created for Donald and now he owns it. Yay! i'm off to the bbs now.

Well I just found out why some people's lots and sims appear twice on the exchange. I was uploading two lots earlier and I got a pop-up saying that the upload had failed - run out of transfer time or something, so I tried again and got the same message, then I tried a smaller lot, but again got the same message. Then I logged on here to find both lots uploaded and of course the one I tried to upload twice has BEEN uploaded twice, so sorry about that.

Yay! I just completed my first upload. It's called "The Salon", and it's...you've guessed it - a salon. And a clothes shop too. Any cc is not mine. I actually thought I built it with all maxis content, but I must have used some custom in there somewhere. Yay!!! the repairman came and installed a new dvd-rom drive. about bloody time! I bought open for business - love it. i really like university too - haven't played nightlife yet. haven't even installed it yet. must do so soon.... anyways, back to my college work (as in real college work - time to step away from the pc :P)
